A few months ago Julia teased this red jumpsuit (it also comes in pink!) and ever since I have been saving up to make this special purchase fit into my shopping budget for all of our holiday soirées! I ordered it the very second the collection launched and when It arrived, with fingers crossed, I tried it on hoping it would deliver romance and elegance. (It did!)

I can’t explain how, but this jumpsuit fits so perfectly - to the point where it feels like it was made for me! I attest this fact, to this concept - “made by a woman for a woman!” Julia just GETS IT you guys! Like perfectly. I wish I could purchase every piece from her collection!

I will admit, I am a feminine dress girl and look for pieces that are glam, romantic, and vintage feeling. Gal Meets Glam meets these goals! Plus adds a modern flair. I will buy anything with ribbons or bows.

I think it can be tricky to find pieces that feel special and feel special sometimes! I can only imagine Julia being so precise about every detail that goes into her garments. The big red bow and the way it draps over the shoulder! The length of the wide leg jumpsuit and the way it flows with your every move!

I don’t know about you , but I am either mingling, sipping, or dancing when it comes time to hit up the holiday party scene! This is an outfit that will allow me to feel comfortable if I need to bend over, pick up my kids, kick up a leg on the dace floor, or just taking in the festive scenes around me.

When something makes me feel beautiful and special, it’s worth the investment. Plus I love to be celebration-ready and appreciate when it’s made easy! I love that this is a one piece and elevated with the attention to detail so you don’t have to worry about adding anything extra. Julia already included all the statement-making you need

When Gal Meets Glam first launched in the spring, I purchased a pink one-shoulder dress that might still be my favorite dress ever! I will include a few photos below, as they also showcase the amount of work, thought, and attention to detail that goes into each item until it’s perfect! Julia - your passion and mission to create beautiful dresses for women to feel amazing in, is 100% coming true!

If you are looking for something to elevate your holiday gatherings this season check out the full collection here, or just visit for some major holiday inspiration in all silhouettes, prints and sizes!

I’m wearing Carmen in the shade of ruby. Both my pieces have fit true to size, and sizes range from 00 Petite - 20, which is similar to (16W-18W.)

Fall In Love With Relaxed & Happy Bohemian Style

Once in awhile you discover something that feels like home. Call it a vibe, call it a tribe. Call it bohemian meets shabby chic! I think I have found a new tribe. Or at least the vibe I wish I evoke.

Lately I have been majorly inspired by the brand - LoveShackFancy. It’s like Cher from Clueless meets Little House on the Prairie. When you discover a dreamy free-spirit world of inspiration, you cannot keep it to yourself! It makes me want to reinvent myself. (Or at least reinvent my wardrobe.) My love for the renaissance woman is strong and l am on a mission to emulate this relaxed and happy harmony when putting together outfits.

It's is an eclectic style for sure. Probably not a look you will rock on your average day of work/running errands. While I am a proprietor of eclecticism, I also get that it's not in the books for everyday. I am also a creature of comfort (believe it or not.) I like clothing that feels relaxed and “freeing.” So, while I get that a bit of practicality is handy, I also feel most comfortable in something that probably isn’t your average daywear. It lifts my mood. It makes me happy! Sometimes I need to believe I am beautiful, wild and free. Sometimes that means putting on an oversize hat, ruffles, and spinning in a field of gold.

I believe there is no reason you can't add a pretty ribbon around your wrist, glittery heels, pink to your hair, or a statement-maker to ANY outfit. It adds intrigue. You are intriguing! Jeans and a tee aren’t always intriguing, as much as I like to rock denim and cotton, I'm one of those people that also like to mix and match. Think antique mixed with modern pieces. I do the same with my house and closet. I love pale, rosey sunset colors. Lace and feminine florals. Old and new. Victorian corsets and satin ribbon paired with moto-boots and mini skirts.

Shabby chic, often referred to as country chic or vintage chic, is a look that reminds me of warm golden days. If you also love this soft and dreamy style, you're in luck, because shabby chic designs and vintage are easy and inexpensive to achieve!

When shopping at vintage shops or modern retailers looks for elements of lace, ruffles, and floral. LOTS OF FORAL. It’s very feminine. While a style sometimes depends the cut, I think you can create a bohemian twist with your accessories and styling. In some ways it’s more about your own outlook and imagination when looking for the right pieces.

Fashion editor Rebecca Hessel Cohen, launched LoveShackFancy with the dream of designing the perfect, laid-back bridesmaid dress. Her original hand-dyed and printed silk dresses have since expanded into a collection of gowns, day-to-night dresses, and separates. As the brand continues to grow,  LoveShackFancy stays true to her original vision of "dancing barefoot in the garden under themoonlit summer night."

I'm pretty sure I want to always be prepared for dancing barefoot in a garden at a moment’s notice. I’m also aware that I live in Ohio and not the tropics! (So maybe we just need to be prepared to dance in the wheat field in a few 100 additional layers!)

I love second-hand and anything up-cycled. Some days I like to dress edgy and dramatic. Others like a California tomboy surf-babe. I like glam and sexy for nights out. Most days I am a cross between a nerdy librarian grandma and Maria from The Sound of Music. It’s hard for me to narrow it down to just one style, when I get so much joy out of trying new things!

I've said this before, but growing up my sisters and I favorite pastime was playing dress up. Maybe it was a form of escape. Maybe it still is... creative outlets are rejuvenating and oh so necessary. I dress for my mood a lot of the time. I'm attracted to ribbons and bows and florals, and romantic layers. This LoveShackFancy skirt actually has teeny tiny gold coins attached to the embroidered edges, so it jingles when you move, like little gypsy bells! Why I melt at this fact, is beyond me - but I cannot help but adore those little details. Like, to my core. This top is from local shop and favorite Ragazza, my hat is from Zara and my basket is from Free People.

I have been in a bit of a creative rut lately - feeling run down and uninspired. Maybe it’s the change of seasons? Trying to prioritize and make time for the creative side leave me with early mornings or late at night…. but it cannot be forced. I am hoping to get back to sharing more of my everyday style on this platform, and hopefully inspire you to change up your normal - even if it’s just with a fun new skirt or hitting up a vintage shop and walking out with something that feels exciting to wear! I want to encourage you to find what makes your heart sing.

Maybe it’s taking pictures with your soulmate on the side of the road at sunset. Maybe it’s slowly rebuilding your wardrobe to reflect quality over quantity. Looking for special details vs. impulse buys. Maybe it’s taking time to dream a little. Maybe it’s trying something new - rock climbing or cake decorating! Maybe it’s as simple as listening to that voice inside you - and building upon it… whatever it is for you follow your dreams. <3 <3 <3

The Cottager

Seventies Vintage

I pulled this vintage beauty out of my parents attic. Maybe it's the old soul in me, but I've always been drawn to clothing that tells a story. Dreamy pieces in creamy white, like this natural frock, speak to my sensitive nature. I love the lived-in feel from another time and place.

My sisters and I used to have a big wooden box of dress up clothes and this 1970s dress was one of our favorites. Back then it would fall three feet too long, dragging across the floor, and take us to an imaginary world of royal tea parties and secret gardens -- or dark alleyway dealings as British spies in disguise.

Fast forward to today, it's the perfect fit for picking wild flowers on a rosé picnic at the cottage. I love the soft worn-in linen feel of the dress. The tag actually reads "The Cottager for the Junior." I couldn't find much about the brand, but it breaths like a warm summer night. The empire waist and detailed buttons up the back add a charming vibe that makes it stand out from today's fashions.

I believe a good vintage dress has the ability to transport you... the more ethereal the better. I have a soft spot for our weekend escapes to our family cottage. Our happy place. <3 Life slows down and we usually just enjoy eachothers company or get lost in nature. Fishing on the lake, walks on the beach, running through wild flower fields or picking berries from the local farm.  I've been coming up to the lake since I was born. t's a place that holds childhood memories and peaceful nostalgia. BBQs, late nights around fires. Sunning like little sand crabs on Papa's dock. Canoe rides and getting pushed on the swing {or into the pond!} The sound of crickets and the hum of nature. A place for wild strawberries and wild freedom.

We discovered this quarry down an old dirt path, and this dress just felt right for whispered dreams and special moments. Earth-goddess hair, bare feet and free flowing fabrics where staples of the seventies. In full hippie-chic mode I added a few Queen Anne's Lace to my braid for added effect. {Interesting fact: Queen Anne’s Lace is in actuality, a wild carrot!}

When looking to add vintage clothing  to your wardrobe, don't be afraid to shop around in antique shops, or your own auntie or grandmothers dresser drawers. Hats, baskets and scarves are a few accessories I usually walk away with for a steal!

When it comes to making a decision on to buy or not I like to try and envision wearing it in a countryside flower field, full of eyelet lace, and creamy shades of dancing white. Little stone cottages and over-grown ivy. Lost dirt roads and hidden wishing wells. If the dress fits the scene - (and fits!) or can be easily altered, into the bag it goes! Always check for stains, holes, and missing pieces.

Long maxi dresses or even midi styles will serve as versatile summertime wear and will evoke an "imperfect" elegance. Shabby chic at it's best, out in the open sky among the singing reeds. Unabashedly feminine, and whimsical.

If you are also enchanted by history and vintage style, where are you favorite places to find  additions to your wardrobe? I would love to hear in the comments below!
